During the special season of Thanksgiving and Christmas, CUB is dedicated to treating the homeless population in our community like family… because they are our family.
The holidays can be lonely for many in our city who find themselves living on the streets. We desire to bring lots of love, laughter, food, and even gifts to the homeless we serve in order to replace that loneliness with joy and Jesus.
“When I serve, I tell myself that I am standing in the gap and serving someone’s father, mother, sister, or brother,” says Amanda Hattman, Kitchen Manager for CUB. Amanda will be busy leading the effort to provide over 300 meals at Thanksgiving and another 300 at Christmas. “It’s organized chaos and lots of fun,” Amanda explains with a grin of satisfaction on her face.
To reach that many people with the love of Christ is no easy task. CUB depends on partners just like you that desire to give back as part of celebrating the holidays. DONATE GOODS. Many of our supporters would like to purchase the needed supplies to make our Thanksgiving/Christmas meals one to remember. We are grateful to receive donations to prepare our meals like turkeys, dressing, corn, green beans, potatoes, yams, pies, and rolls. VOLUNTEER. There are several opportunities to volunteer including prepping the meal, clean up, set-up and tear-down. We also need volunteers to pack our Christmas bags to be given to the homeless. Click the button below and we will email you individual and family volunteer opportunities.
